Michelangelo wins my praise
I had been waiting the whole trip to see Michelangeloàs famous sculpture of David. We finally got to see it today and I was awed. When I had first seen the copy of David several days ago, I felt no great emotion. Today though, I could tell even from a distance, as we were all standing outside the Academia, that the orginal far surpassed that of the copy. I was completely unprepared for how impressive the sculpture looked up close. It was truely magnificent. For some reason, the original looked even bigger than the copy. David's hands were bigger than my own head! The viens visible in David's hands and arms were stunningly beautiful. I think that Michelangelo wins the award for depicting something so divine.
